Obituary from the Brenham Banner Press, June 8, 1977, page 11:
"Orso Ottmer, 91, of Rt. 3, (Klump Community) died at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Herman Peters, Tuesday morning.
Funeral services will be held at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine, Thursday at 3 P.M. with the Rev. W. C. Poehlmann officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. The Brenham Memorial Chapel, 509 S. Baylor, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Stegmann Ottmer, of the Klump Community; two daughters; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Alfred Noernberg of Mill Creek; one grandson, Lt. Comm. Glenn Peters and his wife, Pat, of Key West FL; and one brother, W. C. Ottmer of Chico, CA.
Three sisters preceded him in death.
Pall bearers are Oliver Huebner, Herbert Jurries, Melvin Schulte, Wilbert Meyer, Charles Schulte and Raymond Klump.
Born in Welcome, Austin County Texas, January 16, 1886, the son of the late William and Amalie Huebner Ottmer, he was baptized at the Salem Lutheran Church in Welcome and confirmed in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine. He was educated in the Klump Public Schools.
He was married the first time to Ada Schulte. She preceded him in death May 12, 1934. To this union were born two children; Mrs. Herman Peters of Klump and Mrs. Kinch Adamek of Houston, who survive.
He was married the second time to Mrs. Mary Stegmann, July 20, 1939, in the Salem Lutheran Church of Salem.
A member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine, Mr. Ottmer was a retired farmer."
