Mrs. Johanna (Smitz) Van Osten, 76, widow of Renne Van Osten, died in her home here at 1 p.m. yesterday. Born in Holland, she came to the United States in 1891 and lived for a time in Lafayette. She was married Nov. 8, 1898. She belonged to St. Joseph Catholic church here.
Survivors are a son and daughter, Ray Van Osten, Calumet City; and Mrs. George Minnicus, Reynolds.
