Royleta Clopton Malone, 77, of Hemet, CA passed peacefully into the spirit world on Saturday 12 March 2005 after a brief illness and with members of her family at her side. Royleta made a difference in the lives of many people with her dedication to family history. She unselfishly helped hundreds of relatives with her contagious love of family research. She was born 16 October 1927 in Norman Oklahoma, daughter of Roy Charles Clopton and Ruby Alva Whitwell. She graduated from the Oklahoma College for Women and did graduate studies in California. She taught school for twenty years in southern California. She had been a genealogist for forty years and published over a dozen books of family history. She is survived by her husband of nearly sixty years, James Thomas Malone; six children: Kari Smith of West Valley City, UT; Molly Zielke of West Covina, CA; Thomas Malone of TN; Merry Stansell of West Covina, CA; Patricia Williams of Phoenix, AZ; and Tim Malone of Camarillo, CA; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a sister, Virginia Sue Maloch, of AR. Royleta was predeceased in death by her parents, a sister Frances Clopton Williams and an infant son. Services will be private. Assisting the family with funeral arrangements is Miller Jones Mortuary of Hemet with interment at Forest Lawn Covina Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Perry County Historical Society, c/o Linden Library, 104 College Street, Linden, TN 37096.
