Son of Arnold "Arlan" Robinson Perry & Mary Polly Ratliff. Husband of Emmariah H. Williamson whom he married in Pike County, Kentucky in the year 1849. Father of Elias Lee, Malinda Jane, Andrew Jackson "A J", Mary Polly, William Harrison, Samuel. Cazela Cassie, Gideon D., Emmariah & Victoria Victory Perry.

Perry Ridge where Nathaniel is buried, is land granted to Nathaniel by Govenor Wise of Virginia. Perry Ridge land grant from Commonwealth of Virginia is known to this day as Perry Ridge, after Nathaniel. Nathaniel built a log cabin on Perry Ridge during the Civil War, when he was home on furlough from the 8th Virginia Cavalry CSA. He was with the regiment from 1861-1864.
