Francis Carl Betzer, 67 of 449 W.Sawyer street, a retired farmer died at 2 am yesterday in Decatur and Macon county hospital. Mr. Betzer had lived all his life in Macon county and moved to Decatur about eight or 10 years ago when he retired.
He was born in Macon county near Argenta Oct. 9, 1879, a son of George W.and Catherine Coleman Betzer. He was married to Lola M. Carothers who died in November 1946. He was a member of the Christian church.
He leaves a son, Lawrence, Argenta,a brother Lewis E., Argenta, a sister Mrs. Georgia Troutman Decatur and two grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Dawson & Wikoff funeral home, where friends may call after noon today. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 pm Tuesday, with burial in Union cemetery.
