Rebecca 'Becky' Cornelius was the daughter of John Cornelius and Martha F. 'Patcey' Proffitt of Christian County, Kentucky. On August 5, 1833, she married William A. Owen. She was the mother of Frazier Westley Owen, William Benton Owen, Ann Mariah Owen who married James Ernest Owen, Solomon S. Owen, James Thomas Owen, Mark Anthony Owen, and John Henry Owen.
