Charles served in Company G 1st Minnesota Heavy Artillery during the Civil War.

C. Borneman has been quite sick the past week. The old soldiers are showing the value of their organization by nursing and thoroughly looking after their lonely and friendless comrade.
LATER. - The old jeweler died at 3 o'clock, Thursday afternoon. His brother from St. Peter, and a nephew arrived about ten minutes after his death. The funeral took place at 2 o'clock today.
