Hazel Grant Freeman, 92, of Jellico, passed away March 26 at the family residence. She was born August 26, 1913, at Elk Valley, the daughter of the late Ulysses S. (Mitt) Grant and Sarah Jourdon Grant. She was a loving wife and mother and a homemaker who took great pride in her home. She was a longtime member of the Church of God Mountain Assembly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Maude Mattie; brother, Iva Grant.
She is survived by her loving husband, J.C. (Big Boy) Freeman of Jellico; her loving sons, Larry J. Freeman of Jellico, Jerry R. Freeman of Columbia, S.C.; grandsons, Jeffrey Freeman and wife, Jennifer, of Columbia, S.C., Jerry R. Freeman II and wife, Janice, of Charleston, S.C.; granddaughter, Joyce Allen and husband, Harry, of Cameron, S.C.; three great-grandchildren, Bryan Freeman, Dereck Freeman and Gracie Lynn Freeman, all of Columbia, S.C.; special great-niece, Sharon Owens of Newcomb.
Funeral services were held March 29 at the Church of God Mountain Assembly with the Rev. Jerome Walden and the Rev. Ray Landes officiating. Interment was in the Valley View Cemetery.
Cox and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
