Burton Russell Acklin, 73, Newton, died Sunday, Oct. 20, at 5:30 p.m. in his home.

Visitation and services will be held in Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton, with Rev. Autumn Hull presiding. Burial will be in Vanderhoff Cemetery in Wade Township.

He was born Oct. 17, 1912, in Newton to Frank and Nora (Ross) Acklin. He married Bulbina Zuber May 1, 1940 in Olney.

He was a retired farmer and a Presbyterian. He was a member of the Newton Masonic Lodge, 216 AFAM, Newton Moose, Olney Elks, and Scottish Right of Danville.

Mr. Acklin is survived by his wife, a foster son, Jerry Pittman, Olney, a brother, Cecil Acklin, Ballwin, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Helen Dalton, Newton. He has two grandchildren and two nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
