Edward Moran was the son of Alfred (sp?) and Mary Jane Moore Moran, from the information on his death record.
The record was filed in Preston county by Maude Beavers on the second day of July, 1942. The informant on the certificate was Minnie (Moran) Riley.
The certificate was signed by the coroner and the funeral director. He was laid to rest on 21 June, 1942.
He was born in Salem, in Doddridge County, West Virginia,
with that county given as the birthplace of both his parents.

{A WV birth entry reads, Moran, Eddie; same birthdate, with parents Alpheus M. and Mary Jane Moran.
Alpheus' father may have had the same name, with Hannah his mother's name (from death entry for Alpheus M. Moran, born Jul 1850, d. Jun 1903, East District of Marion county).
No cemetery was given on the death entry for Alpheus the younger.
Mary J. Moran was the informant.
Alpheus and Mary Jane were married in Dodderidge county, WV in 1873, by SJ Graham. He was the son of Alpheus and Hannah, she the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Moore.
His birth place was given as Marion county for his marriage entry.}

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Moran, Sr. were residents of Route 3, Tunnelton.

Mr. Moran was accidentally killed by strike of a train, at the age of 66, at Tunnelton, leaving Flora a widow.

Blazer Resident Killed By Train. Preston County Journal.
Kingwood, WV. Thurs., June 25, 1942.

Excerpt--A west-bound B & O Railroad switch engine instantly killed Eddie Moran, 66, of Blazer about 8:30 last Friday morning. According to witnesses Moran was walking along the tracks and in order to miss a train coming on one track he stepped in front of another engine, not knowing it was approaching. Mr. Moran was a native of Doddridge county and had been living in Blazer for some time. He was the son of the late Albert and Mary Jane Moran. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Flora Plum Moran, and five sons; Joseph Moran of Wellsburg, Oakie Moran of Ambridge, Pa., Earl, Eddie and Clarence Moran, all of Tunnelton. Three brothers and a sister also survive. Burial was in the Layton cemetery.
