Mrs. Callaghan died in St. Anthonys' Hospital at Amarillo at 5 a.m. Saturday where she had been a patient for one week.
She was born Feb. 17, 1881, in Jacksboro, Texas and had been a resident of Panhandle since 1889. She was the first organist of the Southern Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. She was also a charter member of the Womens Society and Fine Arts Club of the Church.
Survivors are her husband, Asbery A. Callaghan, of Panhandle; one daughter, Mrs. H.J. (Pauline) Hughes of Panhandle; one brother, Mr. J.I. Henson, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a sister, Mrs. Eula Goodnight, of Guymon, Okla.; and a son-in-law, Mr. Howard Anderson, of Corpus Christi.
Burial will be in the Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of the Poston Funeral Home.
