Husband of Sudie Singleton. Father of Eugene H. Varner and Mary Jane Varner Cairus. Brother of Maude Varner Massengill and William Varner. Charles was a retired engineer for the South Pacific Rail Road after 30 years of service.

His obituary in the Tucson Daily Citizen (December 12, 1974) says that he was buried in Tucson Memorial Park South Lawn, but he has a memorial headstone in the Singleton Family Cemetery.
