Amel Abelbeck died at the Good Samaritan Center, Superior, last Thursday at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 28 days.

The funeral was Monday from the Centennial Lutheran Church with Pastor David Loeschen officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. The Megrue-Price Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Amel Ernest Abelbeck, one of six children, was born to William and Emma Rears Abelbeck on a farm near Hardy April 17, 1900. He was baptized April 29, 1900, at St. Peter's Church, Byron, by Pastor Lampe and was confirmed March 28, 1915, at St. Peter's Church by Pastor Fred Schardt.

He attended country school at District 81, Nuckolls County, east of Hardy.

Feb. 10, 1931, he was married to Zetta Leece in Hebron. This marriage was blessed with two children, Lona and Dwight. Mr. and Mrs. Abelbeck lived in the Hardy and Superior area for many years.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hardy, Centennial Lutheran Church, Superior, and St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Byron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Albert, and three sisters, Minnie Koch, Ida Kettlehut and Rose Rohrs.

Survivors are his wife, Zetta; daughter, Mrs. Donald Nelson (Lona), Grand Island; son, Dwight, Hebron; sister, Mrs. Lloyd Davidson (Ellen), Deshler; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many other relatives.
