Death claimed Mrs. Luella Metherd, 87, of Red Bluff early this morning. She had been in failing health.
The widow of Joseph Metherd, who died in 1952, Mrs. Metherd was a native of Avon, Colo. where she was born May 14, 1881.
Survivors include three sons, Mason of Red Bluff, Clayton of Reno and Jesse of Grants Pass; daughters Gertrude Taylor of Pasadena and Evelyn Stumbo of Rogue River, Ore., and 15 grandchildren, three of whom in Red Bluff. They are Vicke Allwardt, Kathy Butler and Michael Metherd.
Privat funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday in Fickert-Mason chapel. Burial is to be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
