Anna Marie (Bellender) Slater departed this life and entered The Eternal Home peacefully on her 83 birthday, on November 26, 2009 at the Cambridge Manor in Cambridge, Nebraska.

Anna Marie was born November 26, 1926, to Adam and Catherine (Bathauer) Bellender in Brush, Colorado. She was the seventh child born of 10 children. Anna Marie attended school at Brush, Colorado, and worked on her father's farm.

On December 4, 1946, she was united in marriage to Thomas Leroy Slater, in Brush, Colo. During her lifetime she had many jobs including Lord's Hardware, Hillcrest Nursing Home, homemaker and mother to eight children.

She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Gold Star Mother's and a past member of the Red Willow County Sheriff's Posse.

Anna Marie was welcomed into The Heavenly Home: her parents, Adam and Catherine Bellender her husband, Thomas Leroy Slater, sons, James, Daniel Bellender and Mark; grandson, Christopher Slater.

Survivors are: her long-time friend and companion, Howard Baumbach of Cambridge, Nebraska; sons, Ronald and Linda Slater of Estes Park, Colorado, Jerry and Marilyn Slater, Gary Slater and Mike Slater, all of Indianola, Nebraska; daughter Cathy and Randy Dean of Indianola, Nebraska; brothers, Pete and Veldonna Bellender of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Colorado and Adam Bellender of Portland Oregon; sisters, Virginia and Ron Toepfer and Mary Bauer of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Rosey Price of Fort Collins, Colorado, Gertie and Junior Stratton of Brush, Colorado, Molly Sack of Brighton, Colorado, Katie Schwint of Lincoln City, Oregon and Helen and Leonard Schott of Sterling, Colorado and a host of friends and relatives.
