Isaac Via and his twin brother Jacob were local celebrities in West Virginia who were featured in news articles and an advertisement.

They were "born on Shuden's creek, near the boundary line between Patrick and Franklin counties, Va., May 15, 1853," according to "Twins at 83, Now Living Together Tell About Life," an article in the Sunday Register, Beckley, W.Va., Page 12, 27 Sep 1936. Their parents were Sparrel Via and wife Mary Jane Cochran. Both brothers' tombstones say they were born on May 16.

There is a census record for Lucy E. R. Via, 6 months old, born about 1879, Source Citation: Year: 1880; Census Place: Shady Spring, Raleigh, West Virginia; Roll: 1412; Family History Film: 1255412; Page: 170C; Enumeration District: 130. That is probably Louise.

His twin brother Jacob died 05 Jun 1941 and Isaac died 22 May 1942.

Isaac's 24 May 1942 obituary in the Sunday Register says the two men "came to West Virginia at the close of the Civil War from Franklin County, Virginia, where they were born."

A 1928 ad for VEGO, a patent medicine, called them the oldest twins in West Virginia and one of the oldest sets of twins in the nation.
