Mrs. Szeligowski was an office manager for about fifteen years in the law firm of Smith Abbot LLP, Manhattan.
A resident of Bay Street Landing, she served on the cooperative board's "connections committee," which arranged social events such as "artist in residence" studio tours.
Mrs. Szeligowski collected and displayed dolls, many of which were obtained on her sojourns in Europe and throughout the United States.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, Tompkinsville.
Mrs. Szeligowski's mother, Florence Smith, was a commercial artist and Mrs. Szeligowski followed in her footsteps with an avid interest in arts and crafts. Mrs. Szeligowski sketched and designed jewelry and clothing.
Mrs. Szeligowski was born Alexis Smith in Flushing, Queens. She graduated from St. Angela Hall High School in Brooklyn.
Following her marriage to John Szeligowski in 1968, the family moved to Grymes Hill. They moved to St. George three years ago.
Mrs. Szeligowski is survived by her husband, John; a son, John Jr.; a daughter, Karyn A. Fitzgibbons; her sister, Juliet Polizzi; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Friday from the Harmon Home for Funerals, West Brighton, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.
Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
