My father, Herbert V. Culp, Jr. was born in New Mexico. He was raised in Elgin, Texas, graduating from Elgin High in 1935. He entered the University of Texas, but took a break to enter the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942. He served in Africa and Foggia, Italy, receiving 13 battle stars. Before leaving for Italy, he married my mom, Annette Musil, August 14, 1942 in Boise, Idaho. After serving in WWII, he returned to complete his schooling. Graduating in 1946 with a Bachelor's Degree. My parents moved to Abilene, Tx. in 1948, where my father worked for Social Security. They were transferred to San Angelo, Texas from 1950-1961. They returned to Abilene, where he retired from SS in 1973. Spent the remainder of his years spoiling his grandchildren. Love and miss you, Daddy.
