MRS. MARTIN CASTLEBERG

Mrs. Martin (Mary) Castleberg, 88, Pepin, died March 19, 1971 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Wabasha, MN.

The former Mary Mueller, she was born August 14, 1882, in Crookston, MN, to Andrew and Catherine Meisser Mueller and married Martin Castleberg October 19, 1901. After their marriage, they lived in Mill Creek, rural Alma. They later moved to Trout Creek and also to Burnside, both in the Town of Nelson. She was a member of the United Church of Christ at Tell.

Survivors are: five sons, Andrew, Santa Barbara, CA, Lutzie, Maiden Rock; Chris, Durand; Martin, Nelson; and Clarence, Arpin; three daughters, Mrs. Chris Boehrer, San Diego, CA, Mrs. William Ott, Menomonie; and Mrs. Walter Hartman, Pepin, 41 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Hugo and Elevyn, Alberta, Canada, and three sisters, Mrs. George Heike, Durand; Mrs. Dick Von Wald, Eyota, and Mrs. Walter Heike, Mondovi.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Stohr-Hagen Funeral Home, Alma, the Rev. W.R. Burger, St. Paul and St. Luke United Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
