NOLAN, Dorman
LIBBY - Funeral services for Dorman Nolan, 73, of Libby, brother of Eva Peppenger of Hot Springs, were to be held Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Libby Assembly of God Church with Pastor J.E. Jacobson officiating. Burial with military honors was to be in the City of Libby Cemetery.
Mr. Nolan died Sunday, Sept. 18, 1994, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.
He was born May 17, 1921, at New Somerset, Ohio, to William and Ada Nolan. He was raised and educated in Ohio, moving to the Libby area with the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1941. He and Marjorie Heath were married Oct. 16, 1941, at Libby.
Mr. Nolan was employed by Zonolite and the J. Neils Lumber Company before serving with the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Libby. He was a longtime employee of the J. Neils Lumber Company and St. Regis Paper Company, serving in later years as foreman of the company machine shop. He retired in 1983 after over 45 years of service.
The Nolans celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1991.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, the Lumber & Sawmill Workers Local 2581, the American Legion and the VFW.
He was preceded in death by a son, Duane Nolan, in February 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, Libby; a daughter, Darlene Gene Nolan, Olympia, Wash.; a sister, Eva Peppenger, Hot Springs; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorials were suggested to the Montana Lung Association or Libby (volunteer) Ambulance.
Arrangements were by Nelson & Vial Funeral Home of Libby.
