VIRGINIA BROWN WILLIAMS, 76, died March 5, 2002, at Heidi's Place in Bodenburg Butte. A service was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Palmer, with Bishop Hal Barry Williardson officiating. Visitation was before the service. Burial and dedication of the grave followed at the Palmer Pioneer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clyde Oberg, Terry Richardson, Craig Saunders and Larry Thomas.
Mrs. Williams was born Sept. 26, 1925, in McNary, Ariz., and graduated from high school in 1941. She was a Palmer resident since May 23, 1989. She was employed as a cook in Colorado at Craig Land and Cattle Co. from 1967 to 1972, at Reed Ranches from 1973 to 1975 and at Natarita Cafe from 1977 to 1986, when she retired. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as manager of the LDS Bishop's Storehouse on Bodenburg Loop from 1992 to 1996. Her family wrote: ''She enjoyed making afghans for each of her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, going with her husband, Troy, on fishing, camping and hunting trips and going to the Temple with Troy. ''Virginia liked to stay at home, serving her family and caring for her home. She was an excellent housekeeper and kept her home clean and neat. She loved to work in the garden and would can everything she could. She was known as a real 'homebody.' Her friends and family could always count on her to help when needed. She liked to listen to others, rather than talk. In her younger years, she loved to go to dances, especially square dances with her husband. She always was with her husband, helping on the ranch, going fishing, hunting or camping. She will be missed by her family and friends, especially her husband.''
Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Troy Lee Williams; son, Steven Neil Williams of LaGrange, Wyo.; daughters, Virginia Lee Lilly of Lakeside, Ariz., Carrolyn Ridenhour of Pineville, Ore., and Lenore Baird; son, Charles Williams of Palmer; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
