Arnold Brooks, age 48, of Hammond, passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond.
Arnold attended the East Chicago and Hammond Public Schools.
He is survived by his three daughters: Shawnet (Dan) Thibault of Boston, MA, Brandi Brooks of Chicago, IL and Tracey Ezell of Gary; four sisters: Iris (William) Kelly of Griffith, RaShelle Brooks, Lillian Brooks and Delmira Brooks all of Hammond; two brothers: Marcel Brooks of Virginia Beach, VA and Maurice Brooks of Hammond; five grandchildren: Emanuel, Devonte, Serenity, Jackson and Kevin; six aunts: Jeanette Johnson, Annie Applewhite, Mary Cobb, Marie Brooks, Dorothy Broaders and Bertha Brooks; devoted friends: Michael Coles, Divian Hollingsworth, Richard Mitchell, Mary Austin and Willie Ruth Adams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ike and Patricia; brother, Ike Jr.; and sister, Cecelia.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 4911 McCook Ave., East Chicago, IN with Rev. Dennis Bennett officiating. Interment at Fern Oak Cemetery, Griffith.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 12, 2009 at First Baptist Church from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
