My grandpa, Anton C. Musil, arrived in Galveston, Texas on November 8, 1901. Along with his parents, Joseph and Frances (Bravenec) Musil, his 13 year old brother, Frank Joseph, and his 3 year old sister, Albina (Musil) Matecha, traveled by rail from Havlickova Borova, Bohemia, Czechoslovakia to Breman, Germany. They boarded the ship "Norderney" for the 3 week journey to America. They spent some time in Breslau, Texas before moving to Corinth, Texas in 1907. As a young man, Anton was a member of the SOKOL Gymnastics. Anton married my grandma, Minnie (Slovacek) Musil on August 31, 1917. They raised three daughters, Minnie Antoinette (Musil) Foyt, Annette Eileen (Musil) Culp, and Leona Louise (Musil) Thomas. Their infant son, Daniel, died at birth. Anton was a farmer. Working hard from sun up to sun down. Cotton being his main crop. Love and miss you grandpa.
