She was born February 20, 1942 in Roanoke, Alabama the daughter of the late Pearl Clark Knott and George Knott.
Mrs. Capps was a clerk with the Gordon County Library, and had retired as a broker/owner of Alpha Realty Company in Carrollton. She was a longtime member of United Church of God and attended Olive Branch Church in Calhoun, Ga.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chet Capps; brothers, Claude A. Knott, Sherrill E. Knott and Carlos A. Knott; and a sister, Romell Essie Sherrel.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Steve Vinson & Judy Craft of Carrollton, Lisa & Bill Burgee of Plainville, Ga., Paul Vinson of Calhoun, Ga., Tommy & Dulce Vinson of Canton, Ga., and Lora & Dalon Huntington of Riverside, CA.; sisters and brother in law, Anne & Walt Smith of West Point, Ga., and Sarah Harmon of Roanoke, AL.; also 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 2 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Pastor Roy Holladay and Pastor Bryan Allen officiating.
Mrs. Dodie Allen will provide the music.
Pallbearers will be Steve Vinson, Tommy Vinson, Bill Burgee, Michael Vinson, Jacob Vinson and Travis Burgee.
Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 until 7 PM.
