Catherine Cushing COLMERY

Catherine Cushing Colmery Age 62 passed away at her home on July 18, 2004.

Mrs. Colmery was born in Wilmington on October 8, 1941 and graduated from St. Elizabeth's High School's Class of 1959, lived all her married years in Hockessin, and most recently resided in Smyrna.

She was a lifelong bookkeeper and co-owner of Limestone Road Garage.

Cathy was the secretary of the Delaware Antique Truck Club of America and secretary of the Delaware Towing Association before falling ill.

She was also a longtime scorekeeper and statistician for the Delaware Blind Bowling Association.

Catherine enjoyed gambling trips with her husband and weekly poker nights with her friends.

She was actively involved at St. Polycarp's Church in Smyrna.

She was an honest and thoughtful angel placed on earth to make other people's lives brighter.

Some knew Cathy as aunt, godmother or cousin.

Many called her "friend".

God called her home.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Lewis W. Colmery, III; and her daughters, Victoria Colmery and Vanessa Colmery; her brother, Anthony Cushing; sisters, Patricia Cushing Harris and Joan Cushing Corradin; brother-in-law, Jerome Corradin; and nephew and niece, Jerome Corradin and Catherine Corradin, all of Wilmington.

She is also survived by her aunts, Anne Macey of Wilmington and Julie Lagowski of New Castle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Hockessin on Saturday, July 24th, at 11 am.

Visitation will be held at the R.T. Foard and Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711 on Friday, July 23rd, from 7-9 pm and also Saturday morning from 9-10:30 am.

Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Wilmington.

Charitable contributions in Catherine's memory may be made to your local parish or to the Helen S. Graham Cancer Center, 4735 Ogletown-Stanton Rd., Newark, DE 19713.
