Levi served in the Civil War. He enlisted as a Private in Co. F, 34th Penn. Infantry Regmt. on 21 Jun 1861. He was wounded on 30 Jun 1862 at White Oak Swamp in VA. He had a severe wound to the left arm and it was amputated. He died from the injury on 18 July 1862. Buried in Annapolis National Cemetery, Annapolis, MD; grave: Section G, site 2332.
