Elmer T. Abendroth, age 56, co-owner of the Oakes Manufacturing company here, died at Mercy hospital in Elwood early Thursday afternoon after an illness of approximately a year. Mr. Abendroth who came to this city in June 1930, had been in critical condition for the past week and was not expected to live.

The body was brought to Young's funeral home and funeral arrangements are not yet complete.

The deceased was born May 10, 1885, in Appleton, Wisconsin. He is survived by the widow; two sons, Myron of Tipton and Carlton of Crawfordsville; and two sisters, Mrs. Barnet Crowl of Evanston, Ill., and Mrs. Joe Doing of Appleton.

Mr. Abendroth was associated in the Oakes Manufacturing Co with W.A. Zaloudek and they also own the J.Q. Clark Company, manufacturing tanks, at Crawfordsville. Carlton Abendroth manages the Crawfordsville plant.

Mr. Abendroth had been a former city council member for five years, resigning in 1939.
