Drue Dampier, 88, died Saturday, Dec. 19, at his home in Long Lane.


He was a farmer and cattleman, and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Dauntless; a daughter, Mary Esther Brown, Long Lane; two brothers: Jimmy Dampier, Weaubleau, and Frank Dampier, Urbana; two sisters: Iva Childress, Dallas, Texas, and Bonnie Dampier, Bakersfield, Calif.; and two grandsons: Matthew and Nathan Brown.
