Mrs. Massie E. Stewart, wife of William C. Stewart, died at her home near Ganister, Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock, of cancer of the stomach, from which she had been a patient sufferer for a year past, although her condition did not become alarming until a few weeks ago.

She was the daughter of Jacob and Catherine Aurandt (both deceased) and was born in the Loop, August 5, 1856, being at the time of her death aged 60 years, 6 months and 23 days. She was a devout Christian and bore her great suffering without a word of complaint. She united with the United Brethren church at the early age of 9 years and was a consistent member of that church until 1905, when she transferred her membership to the Lutheran church at Yellow Springs. She was a kind, devoted and loving wife and mother.

Besides her bereaved husband, she is survived by the following children to mourn their great loss: Mrs. Anna Bingham, of Beavertown; Mrs. Alice Saylor, Canoe valley; J. Elmer and J. Ray, of Charitan, Iowa; D. Homer, near Ganister; Harry C., J. Blair and Miss Clara, at home. She was preceded to the grave by two children. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: H. H. Aurandt, Mrs. Blanche Kephart, Mrs. Charlotte Sager, of Altoona; Miss Margaret, of Williamsburg, and Arnad A. Aurandt, of Michigan City, Ind.

The funeral will take place Friday, leaving the home at 1 p.m. Services will be held in her home church at Yellow Springs, conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. M. Rearick. Interment in adjoining cemetery.
