Marva Jones, 72, of Gatesville died Sept. 8 at her residence.
Funeral services were held Monday at Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Rose and the Rev. Fred Nelson officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born July 7, 1928, in Plainview where she was reared and attended school. She was the daughter of the late Marvin Eakin and Leila P. Eakin Henderson.
On Oct. 1, 1949, she married Doyle Brack Jones, and they resided in Gatesville all of their married lives. They owned and operated Jones Cleaners for 18 years and she worked at Medical Plastics for 23 years, retiring in 1996. Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1983.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Cullar; and two brothers, Carl and Duane Eakin.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Mound Cowboy Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Cullar of Gatesville; three sons, Bobby Doyle Jones of Gatesville, Joe Jones of Flat and Don Jones of Mound; two brothers, Robert L. (Bob) Eakin of Mount Vernon and Gleason J. Eakin of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Betty G. Hanley of Hesperia, Calif., and Elaine Guthrie of Gatesville; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Billy Ray Jones, Ken Jones, Dan Eakin, Kenneth Guthrie, Kermit Jones, Rick Jones, Monte Comer and Steve Branham.
