Marvin Curtis Tweite was born October 4, 1896 in Olmsted County, MN He was the son of Elef L. and Martha Tweite (Tvedt). The Tweite farm was located southwest of Byron, Minnesota. As a young lad Marvin had helped build the house on the farm in 1911. Marvin's father passed away and his mother, Martha owned the farm where Marvin worked the farm on shares.
Marvin married Marjorie Houston and they moved to the farm home and remained there the rest of their lives. He milked 20 cows on his farm and raised crops by working the land with horses. After Marjorie died in 1942 the older boys were able to help with the farm work and raising the two youngest children. Son, Robert and wife Jeannette purchased the farm in 1960 but Marvin remained with them on the farm and was active in daily activities until shortly before his death.
Marvin died at the Olmsted Community Hospital on Tuesday, February 9, 1988 at the age of 91 years. His funeral was held at Christ Lutheran Church in Byron. He was buried beside Marjorie in the Houston family plot of Maple Grove Cemetery, Kasson, Minnesota.
