EXTRA!
FOUR CHILDREN DIE IN FIRE NEAR KALO

3:30 p.m. bulletin
Four children of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clayton were burned to death in a fire that destroyed their home near the Kalo Brick and Tile company in Kalo this afternoon.
Clayton, a Negro, is a worker in the brick and tile company's plant.
The Claytons have six other children.
Clayton was in Fort Dodge at the time of the fire. His wife is a domestic in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dona (sic) Schnurr in Otho and was there at the time.
The children burned to death are George, 3; Cathryn Jo, 4; Rosie, 1 1/2 years old, and Calvin, three months.
Home with the children at the time was a brother, Sammy, 12. He was outside getting wood when the fire started. The flames spread so rapidly neither he nor neighbors could enter the house.
The ruins were still too hot some time after the fire to be searched for the bodies.
The children were all asleep in a downstairs bedroom.
