John Trivanovich, 80, of Gulfport, died Wednesday, December 29, 2009 in Ocean Springs.

Mr. Trivanovich was a long-time resident of Gulfport. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the US Air Force, where he served in WWII, Vietnam and Korea. He was a Bronze Star recipient and received numerous other ribbons and medals. Mr. Trivanovich received his Masters from the Univ. of So. Miss. He then taught in the Biloxi School System in several elementary schools, retiring after more than 20 years of teaching.

He was a member of the Masons, American Legion, Polar Star and of Handsboro United Methodist Church. He was also a Scout Master with the Cub and Boy Scouts.

Mr. Trivanovich was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Helen Trivanovich; and his son, John Allen Trivanovich.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Virginia "Jinks" Trivanovich of Gulfport; 3 children, Gary Wayne Trivanovich (Colleen) of Biloxi, David Trivanovich (Janeen) of Maurice, LA, and Laura Marie Walpole (Tommy) of Cantonment, FL; daughter-in-law, Brenda Trivanovich; 8 grandchildren, Kip, Linsey, Shane, Adam, Tracy, Heather, Craig and Seth; and 1 great-grandchild, Luke.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Mr. Trivanovich's caregiver, Charlotte.

Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 1, 2010 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. The guestbook may be viewed at www.riemannfamily.com.
