Flenoy "Smokey" Ables, 73 of Toney, Alabama died on Friday, January 1, 2010, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Hovis officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Hovis, Bubba McAnally, Lee Brazelton, Frank Geske, Donald Dickson, and Johnny Brown. The family will recieve friends on Monday, January 4, 2010, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home.
Born Thursday, January 30, 1936 in Ardmore, Alabama, he was the son of the late William Ables and the late Vinnie Jones Ables. He was a lifelong resident of this area. He loved to talk and never met a stranger. He enjoyed trading and was always "Right There". He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Helen Neeley Ables; Brothers: Weldon Ables, Eugene Ables, and a sister Marie White.
Surviving are sons, Ronald (Doris) Ables of Toney, AL and Bobby (Nancy) Ables of Toney, AL, daughters, Cheryl (Ken) Geske of Toney, AL and Carol (Randy) Sims of Elkmont, AL, brothers, Wilburn Ables of Ardmore, TN and Paul Ables of Taft, TN, sisters, Peggy Richardson of Taft, TN and Mary Fowler of Florida; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
