An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Thursday, 2-25-1971:

Funeral services for John Wilson, 47, of Oakland, Calif., former Gatesville resident, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Scott's Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Howard Porter officiated, and burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Wilson died suddenly Feb. 17 while at work as a mailer for the Oakland Tribune.
A native of San Saba, he lived in Gatesville before entering the military service in World War II. After the war, he worked for the Temple Telegram and the Dallas Times-
Herald before going to Oakland about 20 years ago.
He was married to Alma Agnes Baird Nov. 7, 1963.
Surviving are his wife of Oakland; two sons, Rodney Wilson and Clyde Wilson, both of Los Angeles, Calif,; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Waugah of Los Angeles; his mother, Mrs. Josie Wilson of Gatesville; three sisters, Mrs. Lorene Smith of Lampasas, Mrs. Marie Turner cf Bertram and Mrs. Evelyn Plant of Killeen; six brothers, Horace Wilson of Killeen, C. G. Wilson Jr. of Johnson City., Woodrcw Wilson of Gatesville, Raymond Wilson of Killeen, Joe Wilson of Gatesville and Wayne Wilson of Waco; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Wilson's father died in 1950.
Pallbearers for the Wilson funeral Sunday were C. B. Chambers, Lloyd D. Turner, Morris Holt, W. L. Henson, Willie B. Smith and Claude Dudark.
