MRS. MARY DOROTHY HARDESTY, 75 years old, of Rt. 1, Brandenburg, died Saturday, January 28, 1984, at her residence. She was born in Meade County, KY on September 14, 1906, the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Fackler and Margaret Hardesty Fackler. A son, Mr. Thomas Alpha Hardesty preceded his mother in death on November 15, 1964. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Hillary A. Hardesty, 7 children, Mrs. Lorena Shaw, Louisville, Mrs. Thomas (Bernice) Staples, Louisville, Mrs. Louis (Doris) Hobbs, Fairdale, Mrs. Griffith (Irma) Rhodes, Brandenburg, Mr. Rudolph Hardesty, Bloomington, IL, Mr. Joe Willie Hardesty, Ekron, and Mr. Aloysius Hardesty, Fairdale; 2 sisters, Mrs. Loretta Greenwell, Webster, and Mrs. Josephine Yates, Payneville; 1 brother, Mr. Jake Fackler, Webster; 39 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 1984 from St. John the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Bill Martin officiating. Interment was in Mt. Merino Cemetery, Irvington directed by Jenkins Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Thomas Staples, Patrick Hardesty, Kenny Hobbs, Bobby Hardesty, Kenny Sloan, and Gene Staples. Vigil services were held at 7:00 p.m. Monday January 30, 1984 from the Chapel of Jenkins Funeral Home by Father Bill Martin.
