The former Katherine Raquet, she was born Dec. 14, 1882, in the Town of Schleswig, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Raquet.
Her marriage to Mr. Roethel took place Nov. 7, 1905 at Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners. The couple lived on the Roethel home farm in the Town of Meeme for 10 years, then moved to Kiel.
Mr. Roethel, who died in February, 1956, was a former state assemblyman, having served in the legislature for two terms (1918-20 and 1926-28).Mr. and Mrs. Roethel, who observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1955, had no children.
The Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel announced tentatively that services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Kiel, with burial in Kiel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Tuesday until 11 a.m. Wednesday and at the church from noon until the time of services.
