SERVICES for F. M. (Bud) Wertz, 58, of 109 1/2 South Main Street will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The Rev. Glenn Midthun will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Wertz died Tuesday at St. Luke's Hospital of injuries suffered in a switching accident in the Milwaukee Road yards monday.
Mr. Wertz was born April 5, 1911 in Aberdeen. He graduated from Central High School. He married Betty Root of Ipswich on January 2, 1939 and they had made their home in Aberdeen since. He had been employed for 25 years by the Milwaukee as a switchman. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and Moose Lodge.
Survivors besides his widow, of West Los Angeles, California are three sons, two daughters, two brothers, E. C. Wertz of Portland, Oregon and Robert Wertz of South Sioux City, Nebraska; three sisters, Mrs. Walter (Olive) Werth and Mrs. Ruth Hagel, both of Aberdeen, and Mrs. Frank (Jean) Mardian of Anaheim, California; and five grandchildren. His parents and infant brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Huebl Chapel from Wednesday evening until Friday noon and at the church from 12:30 to 1:50 p.m. Relatives are asked to meet in the church basement at 1:30 p.m.
