Mrs. Rachel (Slate) (Weaver) Hayes passed away in this city last Thursday, following an operation at the Montpelier Hospital.

Deceased was the daughter of Simon Harvey Slate and Christianna Graham "Christie" Reed Slate, and the adopted daughter of Mrs. F. E. Weaver of Bennington, where she had made her home since she was six years of age.

She was united in marriage to Smith Hayes of Georgetown three years ago.

She was 24 years of age and was born in Daniels, Wyoming.

Besides her husband and foster parents, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. S. H. Slate of Hooper, Utah, and three brothers and a sister, who reside at Daniels.

Mrs. Hayes will be mourned by a large circle of friends and acquaintances, by whom she was held in the highest respect.

Funeral services were held from the Georgetown Chapel Sunday at 11 a. m. The speakers were W. E. Morgan, Bishop G. Hulme, President Silas L. Wright, and W. E. Clark.

Music was furnished by the Ward Choir; there was a song by her Sunday School class and a duet by Melvin and Horace Weaver.

Interment was made in the Georgetown Cemetery.
