She was born in Lamar County, Texas. She married Willis Monroe Aycock on November 5, 1880, in Lamar County, Texas.

Their daughter Alice Aycock, married Horace Brigham Dunagan, Horace was son of Absolom and Margaret Frances Campbell Dunagan. Margaret Frances was daughter of James S and Mary Ann Stuart Campbell.

THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, March 25, 1923: "Mrs. Mattie Aycock, a former resident of Lamar county, died Friday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom Harrison at Fort Towson, Okla., with whom she was living. The remains were brought to Paris Saturday and were taken in charge by Emerson and Brown. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Campbell graveyard near Atlas, Rev. Mr. Davis of Howland officiating. Mrs. Aycock was 71 years old and was the widow of W. M. Aycock, who died in 1912. She was the mother of eight children, seven of whom are living; H___ Aycock and Harry Aycock of Faught, Vic Aycock of New York [unreadable portion] and Mrs. Harrison of Fort Towson. She also leaves a step-son Willis Aycock of Atlas. She was a member of the Methodist church thirty years. She had been an invalid five years."

An abstract of the pension shows she lived in Paris, applied 9 Nov 1912, approved 10 Dec 1913, he died 21 Feb 1912 in Lamar Co., they married 5 Nov 1880 in Lamar Co., she was 64, born in Lamar Co., lived 30 years at Rt. 6, Paris, (see application 19554 for regiment). Aplication #19554 shows, W. M. Aycock, Howard Co., TX, Big Spring, applied 3 Aug 1909, approved 1 Sep 1910, he was honorably discharged at Pine Bluff, Ark in the Spring of 1865, age 71, born in Bibb Co., AL, lived in Howard Co. 2 1/2 yeaars, farmer, served in Co. A, Monroe's Regiment, 1st AR Cavalry. War Dept. reply dated 28 Oct 1910 shows him as Pvt., Co. A, (Monroe's) Arkansas Cavalry, enlised 9 May 1862. On last roll of 29 Feb 1864 as present.

In 1994 this was an unmarked grave.
