GEORGOPOULOS, George - Peacefully, on Friday, July 23, 2004 in his 72nd year, a dear husband, father, grandfather, friend and a great gentleman, passed away. George will be forever missed by his beloved wife and best friend of 43 years, Irene (nee Liakos). He leaves behind his loving children, Dr. Paul Georgopoulos and Nicole Prendergast, Pascal Georgopoulos and Chris Georgopoulos and his wife Tiina. George was a delighted grandfather to George and Peter Georgopoulos. He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Andromahe Economoff and Soula Lagos and by his brother, Demitrios Georgopoulos and his wife Efrosini. Dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents and by his brother, Pantelis Georgopoulos. His great joy in life's little pleasures and his contagious sense of humor lives on in anyone who crossed his path. George had many passions throughout his life. He was an avid gardener and a master chef whose talents will never be forgotten. He was forever the handyman around the house, he took care of everything. George and his family are very proud of his thirty plus years in painting and decorating. The family will receive friends at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Saturday, July 24, 2004 (today) from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday, July 25, 2004 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited from the funeral home on Sunday at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 527 Bridgeport Rd., Kitchener on Monday, July 26, 2004 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Woodland cemetery Kitchener. Memorial donations to St. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church Fund would be appreciated and may be placed by contacting the funeral home at 745-9495 or through [email protected]. A special thank you to Dr. Carolyn Campbell and Dr. Donna Ward and to the nurses on the 8th floor of the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital for all their compassion and support.
