David, who was b. abt. 1802, m. Elizabeth Lanning, a dau. of John & Nancy (Kerlin) Lanning, on 28 April 1829 in Somerset Co., PA. They were m. by John Hanna, Esq. David & Elizabeth bought SE 1/4 S24 in Monday Creek Twp., Perry Co. on 10 Dec. 1838 from John A. Collins. In the 1860 Perry Co. census, Elizabeth's widowed mother Nancy (Kerlin) Lanning was living with them. In David's 17 Nov. 1866 estate settlement, the Monday Creek Twp. land was sold by the heirs. There were seven heirs, who included Alfred King, deceased, & Catherine, wife of John Hoodlet. In the 1880 Falls/Gore Twp., Hocking Co, OH census, the widow Elizabeth Lanning was living in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, John & Rebecca Hartman.
