MUKOMELA, ANTON CRYSTOFOROVICH

A.C. (Tony) Mukomela born 23 July 1889 in Kiev, Ukraine (then part of USSR). He immigrated to Canada in 1911 and went to Fargo (North Dakota) in 1917.

In 1918 he came to Langdon with the company which installed the city's first waterworks system. He remained in Langdon and was superintendent of the Water Department for 53 years until he retired in 1971 at age 82.

Tony married Ella Mae Storie, daughter of William John and Annie Marie (Baxter) Storie on 11 Oct 1926. She was born in Osnabrock 14 March 1905 and was employed in Langdon at the time of her marriage.

They had eight children: Arthur, Shirley, Marjorie, Kenneth, Lois, Robert, William, and Cheryl.

Arthur is a pathologist in Escondido, CA. Retired from the US Navy. He married Sheila Durack of Montreal and they are the parents of three boys and two girls.

Shirley, an R.N. at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis married Steve Lazarz. They have one daughter and two sons.

Marjorie married Rev Robert Logan, pastor of United Methodist Church at Napolean. They have four children: Barb, their oldest daughter died in March 1983.

Kenneth is on a three year leave of absence from Southwest State U. in Marsahll, MN and is serving on active duty with the Army in Atlanta. He married Gwen Nixon from Devils Lake and they have three daughters and two sons.

Lois married Robert Jones and resides in Des Moines, Iowa. They are the parents of two children: Colleen and Chris.

Robert works for United Airlines and lives in Schaumburg, IL. He married Kay Scott of Fairgrove, MI. Brian and Melanie are their children.

Cheryl married Darrell Balweg.

Tony died 21 July 1975 at age 85. Ella was 74 when she died 21 Feb 1980. Their son, William was born in 1932 and died of meingitis in 1934.--recorded 5/85
