Alberta was educated in the Mecklenburg County School System. She joined Mount Olive Baptist Church in 1929 and was a faithful member until the declining health of her husband. She was employed by Hotel Charlotte for many years and retired from Central Piedmont Community College.
She organized the following auxiliaries at Mt. Olive: Gospel Chorus, Pastor's Aid Club, Usher Board, Missionary Circle No. 2, Kitchen Committee, Women's Club and Mass Choir. It was her idea to have an outdoor baptismal pool built on the church property. It was also her idea to build the new church (Mt. Olive present sanctuary). She was a very faithful Sunday School teacher for approximately 55 years and was Mount Olive first Homecoming Queen.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years of marriage, Mr. Ralph C. Alexander, along with four brothers and three sisters.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories one brother, Billy Ray Wilson of Huntersville, North Carolina, three sisters, Annie Lou Davidson, Mazella Graham and Louise Connor, all of Huntersville, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Mr. Floyd Anderson (Annie Lou) of Washington, DC; three sister-in-laws, Mrs. Ester Anthony, Mrs. Eunice Davis (Louie) of Matthews, NC; and Ruth Campbell of Washington, DC; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
