Elmer Gaede, 71, of 608 E. North Ave., Olney died Saturday April 16, 1977 at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services at Zirkle Funeral Home with Pastor Lowell McDowell officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg.

He was born October 30, 1905 near West Salem, son of Herman and Bessie Huchel Gaede. He was united in marriage with Lola Travers August 15, 1927 in Parkersburg. Had he lived, the couple would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this coming August.

For 17 years he was employed by Pure Oil Co. and also was an employee of Myers Brothers Garage. He was a member of the United Brethren Church, Olney Lodge 1372, Loyal Order of the Moose 2970 and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Olney Lodge 2549.

Surviving are his wife, Lola; two sons, Senior M/Sgt. Oliver E. Gaede, stationed at Norton Air Force Base, San Bernardino, Calif. and Herman Ray Gaede of Mahomet; two daughters, Mrs. Vernie (Ruby) Dean of Bloomington and Mrs. Don (Joan) Hinderliter of Olney; two brothers, John and Morris, both of Minonk; three sisters, Mrs. Vera Lenear and Mrs. Caroline Nicholas, both of Parkersburg and Mrs. Thelma Buckels of Olney; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
