Three Week Illness Fatlal To Roy Murchison
Roy B Murchison 67 of Route 4 Greensboro died at 7 30 pm yesterday at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, after an illness of three weeks. He had been in the hospital for 12 days.
Born and retired near Gulf Chatham County. He had lived in Greensboro 40 years. He had worked out of and with the County Health Department since 1933. At the time of his death he was a junior sanitarian with the department. He had been with Odel Hardware Company at one time and in the coal business for several years.
Surviving are his wife the former Flora Byrd, two daughters Mrs R M Gladstone Jr of High Point, Mrs T P Vandergrift of Greensboro, two sons Roy and Fred Murchison of Greensboro.
Funeral will be at 4 pm Thursday at Asheboro Street Baptist Church with Rev J Ben Eller pastor officiating assisted by Rev H G McKay pastor of Forest Avenue Baptist Church. Interment will be Forest Lawn Cemetery. The body will be placed at the church 30 min prior to the service.
