FORT MYERS NEWS-PRESS, Thurs., July 9, 1987 - Una Mary Owen Acuff of Grace Ave, Fort Myers, died Monday. She was born Mar. 20, 1898 in Montgomery County, AL. She was married to Elbert Sylvanus Acuff in 1918 and moved to Fort Myers at that time. Mr. Acuff preceded her in death in 1954. Their son, Elbert O. Acuff was killed during World War II in 1945.

Surviving is one sister, Ouida C. Owen and daughters and sons-in-law, Coleene and Harold Huddleston, Ann Marie and John F. Hicks, Mary Charles and Harry Chernin; and ten grandchildren.

Mrs. Acuff was a charter member of Central United Methodist Church since 1921, a a member of Gold Star Mothers, a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Lee County Pioneers Club.
