The daughter of Caroline Shurlock and John Manly Files.

The Files women were all milliners in Shreveport, Louisiana.

All of the Files women are buried together at Oakland and there is a central monument in the center of the family plot, along with individual headstones.

DIED.

Mrs. Rhoda Files Hunter died Wednesday morning at the home of Mrs. M. C. Allen, Edwards street, after an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Hunter was well known and much beloved in Shreveport, having spent the most of her life in this community. Nine years ago, on account of her ill health, she and her sister, Miss R. M. Files, moved to Monrovia, Cal. It was while on a return visit to her many friends that she was taken sick, which resulted in her death. She was a noble woman, known for her many good works and her devotion to her church. She is survived by her sister, Miss R. M. Files, known to all as Miss Dick Files, and a cousin, Mr. John B. Files, of Shreveport.
