Anna Marie Cooksey, 92, died October 17, 2005, at her home in Otis (near Lincoln City), Oregon.
Anna Marie was born February 19, 1913, in Buffalo, Missouri, the daughter of Willis Lafayette Cline and Mary Eva (Eidson) Cline. They moved from Missouri to Lemon Cove (CA) about 1918.
Anna Marie Cline married Gerald Robert Cooksey in Visalia on August 26, 1932. They spent 58 years in Visalia before moving to Otis, Oregon, in 1990, with their son and family.
Known as "Ann" to most and "Marie" to some, she was a homemaker, a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Visalia, and is well-remembered by her loved ones for surprising them with home-baked treats on special occasions.
She was preceded in death by her husband in December 1990; also five sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her son, Gerald R. Cooksey, Jr., daughter-in-law Martha, and grandsons, Kendell and Keith Cooksey; all of Oregon; her daughter, Jane, of Texas; her granddaughter, Sarah, and great-granddaughter, Madelene, of Oregon. She was a much-loved aunt to her many nieces and nephews n California and Oregon. She had an especially close relationship with her niece, Irene Miller of Visalia, whom she visited with weekly by phone.
