HIAWATHA --- Lorene Luster, 90, Hiawatha, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at a Hiawatha nursing home.

Mrs. Luster and her husband farmed in the Mount Zion Community until the late 1970s.

She was born July 18, 1911, on a farm in the Mount Roy school district, the daughter of August and Minnie Gerdemen Bruning. She was reared in the Mount Roy area and a lifelong resident of the area.

Mrs. Luster was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ in Hiawatha and the Rainbow Club of Robinson.

She married Warren Luster in December 1947. He died Nov. 4, 1997.

Survivors include a sister, Goldie Frakes, Hiawatha.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Casselman-Meek Funeral Home in Hiawatha. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Luster will lie in state after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany United Church of Christ Memorial Fund and be sent in care of the funeral home.
